Work Permits & Visa
Work Permits are legal authorization which allows a person to take up employment in a country other than his nationality. The Work Permit allows the person to apply for the employment visa in his country which will allow him to travel.
While most countries refer it as Work Permits or Permit to Work, there are some who have different terms or categories that are used.
- USA – H, L, O, P, Q
- UK – Tier 1 & Tier 2
- Canada – Temporary work visa & Temporary Residence Permit
- Germany – Employment Permits (D)
- Netherlands – Employment Permit (TWV) & Single Permit (GVVA)
- France – Work Permit
- Luxembourg – Temporary Permit to Stay
- Singapore – Employment Pass
- Australia – Work Visas
- Sri Lanka – Entry Visa approval from Department of Immigration
- Japan – Certificate of Eligibility
Dependent / Family Visa
Dependent visas are issued to dependents of the primary applicant who holds an Employment visas. Dependents can accompany and stay for a long term in the host country along with the primary applicant.
While most countries refer it as Dependent or family visa, there are some who have different terms or categories that are used.
- USA – H4, L2 & F4
Business Visa
Business visas are available for businessmen/ entrepreneurs visiting a foreign country for business meetings & discussions for a short period of time. These visas can be applied for people who would like to travel in order to negotiate or promote business related activities.
While most countries refer it as Business visa, there are some who have different terms or categories that are used.
- USA – B1
- UK – Visitor Visa
- Schengen Countries – Short Stay Schengen Visa
Study Permit / Student Visa
Study Permit are issued to students registered with recognised institutions in the host country and are valid for the period of study. This visa allows a student to live & study throughout their course.
While most countries refer it as Study Permit or Student visa, there are some countries who have different terms or categories that are used.
- USA – F & M
Citizenship / Permanent Residency Applications
On arrival in the foreign country the applicant has to register with the local authorities in most cases if travelling for a longer period. There are processes to follow in order to get the citizenship or PR card.
While most countries refer it as Study Permit or Student visa, there are some countries who have different terms or categories that are used.
- US – Green card
Work Permit Renewals / Extension
Work Permit renewals or extensions are essential to be processed if the applicant is required to extend his employment in the foreign country as per his employer. Applicant should also meet the eligibility criteria for the renewal or extension as applicable by the host country.
